How do I clean Lexware Logs?

If you want to clean Lexware Logs manually, you can follow the steps outlined below. There are thirteen locations in the file system where Lexware Logs stores data that can be cleaned.

Files

To clean your file system from files stored by Lexware Logs and to gain free disk space, examine the following file system locations. First of all, open a command prompt window:

  • Hit the Windows key , usually located in the lower left of your keyboard between the Ctrl and Alt keys.
  • Windows XP/Vista/7: Click Run...
  • Type cmd
  • Hit Enter

Now list all the files stored by Lexware Logs that can be cleaned:

  1. Type dir %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Lexware\logs
    • Windows XP: Type dir %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Application Data\Lexware\logs
  2. Type dir %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Lexware\elster\Log
    • Windows XP: Type dir %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Application Data\Lexware\elster\Log
  3. Type dir /s %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Lexware\*.log
    • Windows XP: Type dir /s %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Application Data\Lexware\*.log
  4. Type dir /s %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Lexware\*.logx
    • Windows XP: Type dir /s %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Application Data\Lexware\*.logx
  5. Type dir /s %LOCALAPPDATA%\Lexware\*.log
    • Windows XP: Type dir /s %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\Lexware\*.log
  6. Type dir /s %LOCALAPPDATA%\Lexware\*.logx
    • Windows XP: Type dir /s %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\Lexware\*.logx
  7. Type dir %SystemDrive%\LxDasi.Log
  8. Type dir /s %ProgramFiles%\Common Files\Lexware\*.log
    • On 64-Bit also: Type dir /s %ProgramFiles(x86)%\Common Files\Lexware\*.log
  9. Type dir /s %ProgramFiles%\Lexware\*.log
    • On 64-Bit also: Type dir /s %ProgramFiles(x86)%\Lexware\*.log
  10. Type dir %LOCALAPPDATA%\VirtualStore\Program Files*
    • Windows XP: Type dir %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\VirtualStore\Program Files*
  11. For all the folders that were listed in the previous step:
    Type dir /s {folder}\Common Files\Lexware\*.log where {folder} is one of the folders listed in the previous step.
  12. Type dir %LOCALAPPDATA%\VirtualStore\Program Files*
    • Windows XP: Type dir %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\VirtualStore\Program Files*
  13. For all the folders that were listed in the previous step:
    Type dir /s {folder}\Lexware\*.log where {folder} is one of the folders listed in the previous step.
  14. Type dir %LOCALAPPDATA%\VirtualStore\ProgramData\Lexware\logs
    • Windows XP: Type dir %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\VirtualStore\ProgramData\Lexware\logs
  15. Type dir %LOCALAPPDATA%\VirtualStore\ProgramData\Lexware\elster\Log
    • Windows XP: Type dir %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\VirtualStore\ProgramData\Lexware\elster\Log
  16. Type dir /s %LOCALAPPDATA%\VirtualStore\ProgramData\Lexware\*.log
    • Windows XP: Type dir /s %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\VirtualStore\ProgramData\Lexware\*.log
  17. Type dir /s %LOCALAPPDATA%\VirtualStore\ProgramData\Lexware\*.logx

  18. Type dir /s %APPDATA%\Lexware\*.log

Once you have identified the files stored by Lexware Logs that you want to clean, delete them using the del command or Windows Explorer.
