How do I clean dBpoweramp?

dBpoweramp may store excess, temporary data on your computer that can take up valuable space. It may also store private data such as passwords or browsing history in the registry or on the file system. The easiest way to erase this data is by downloading AppCleaner, it is 100% free and about 1MB in size. A portable version is also available.

Registry

To clean the registry from data stored by dBpoweramp, you can use the Microsoft Registry Editor (regedit.exe) which is installed by default on all Windows operating systems. First of all, open regedit.exe by carrying out these steps:

• Hit the Windows key , usually located in the lower left of your keyboard between the Ctrl and Alt keys.
• Windows XP/Vista/7: Click Run...
• Type regedit.exe
• Hit Enter

Now use regedit.exe to delete the registry keys:

   • Right-click dMCLastFolder1 in the right pane.
   • Choose Delete from the context menu.
   • Click Yes.
2. • Expand HKEY_CURRENT_USER from the root of the tree in the left pane.
   • Expand Software.
   • Expand Illustrate.
   • Click dBpoweramp.
   • Right-click dMCLastFolder2 in the right pane.
   • Choose Delete from the context menu.
   • Click Yes.
3. • Expand HKEY_CURRENT_USER from the root of the tree in the left pane.
   • Expand Software.
   • Expand Illustrate.
   • Click dBpoweramp.
   • Right-click dMCLastFolder3 in the right pane.
   • Choose Delete from the context menu.
   • Click Yes.
4. • Expand HKEY_CURRENT_USER from the root of the tree in the left pane.
   • Expand Software.
   • Expand Illustrate.
   • Click dBpoweramp.
   • Right-click dMCLastFolder4 in the right pane.
   • Choose Delete from the context menu.
   • Click Yes.
5. • Expand HKEY_CURRENT_USER from the root of the tree in the left pane.

   • Right-click dMCLastFolder5 in the right pane.
   • Choose Delete from the context menu.
   • Click Yes.

   • Choose Delete from the context menu.
   • Click Yes.
9. • Expand HKEY_CURRENT_USER from the root of the tree in the left pane.
   • Expand Software.
   • Expand Illustrate.
   • Click dBpoweramp.
   • Right-click dMCLastFolder9 in the right pane.
   • Choose Delete from the context menu.
   • Click Yes.
10. • Expand HKEY_CURRENT_USER from the root of the tree in the left pane.
    • Expand Software.
    • Expand Illustrate.
    • Click dBpoweramp.
    • Right-click dMCLastFolder10 in the right pane.
    • Choose Delete from the context menu.
    • Click Yes.
11. • Expand HKEY_CURRENT_USER from the root of the tree in the left pane.
    • Expand Software.
    • Expand Illustrate.
    • Click dBpoweramp.
    • Right-click dMCLastFolder0 in the right pane.
    • Choose Delete from the context menu.
    • Click Yes.
12. • Expand HKEY_CURRENT_USER from the root of the tree in the left pane.
    • Expand Software.
    • Expand Illustrate.
    • Expand dBpoweramp.
    • Expand dMCCodec.
    • Click AAC (Advanced Audio Compression).
    • Right-click DMCUserFolderStr in the right pane.
    • Choose Delete from the context menu.
    • Click Yes.
13. • Expand HKEY_CURRENT_USER from the root of the tree in the left pane.
    • Expand Software.
    • Expand Illustrate.
    • Expand dBpoweramp.
    • Expand dMCCodec.
    • Click Aiff.
    • Right-click DMCUserFolderStr in the right pane.
    • Choose Delete from the context menu.
    • Click Yes.
14. • Expand HKEY_CURRENT_USER from the root of the tree in the left pane.
    • Expand Software.
    • Expand Illustrate.
    • Expand dBpoweramp.
    • Expand dMCCodec.
    • Click Apple Lossless.
    • Right-click DMCUserFolderStr in the right pane.
    • Choose Delete from the context menu.
    • Click Yes.
15. • Expand HKEY_CURRENT_USER from the root of the tree in the left pane.
    • Expand Software.
    • Expand Illustrate.
    • Expand dBpoweramp.
    • Expand dMCCodec.
    • Click FLAC.
    • Right-click DMCUserFolderStr in the right pane.
    • Choose Delete from the context menu.
    • Click Yes.
16. • Expand HKEY_CURRENT_USER from the root of the tree in the left pane.
    • Expand Software.
    • Expand Illustrate.
    • Expand dBpoweramp.
    • Expand dMCCodec.
    • Click mp3 (Lame).
    • Right-click DMCUserFolderStr in the right pane.
    • Choose Delete from the context menu.
    • Click Yes.
17. • Expand HKEY_CURRENT_USER from the root of the tree in the left pane.
    • Expand Software.
    • Expand Illustrate.
    • Expand dBpoweramp.
    • Expand dMCCodec.
    • Click ogg vorbis.
    • Right-click DMCUserFolderStr in the right pane.
    • Choose Delete from the context menu.
    • Click Yes.
18. • Expand HKEY_CURRENT_USER from the root of the tree in the left pane.
    • Expand Software.
    • Expand Illustrate.
    • Expand dBpoweramp.
    • Expand dMCCodec.
    • Click Wave.
    • Right-click DMCUserFolderStr in the right pane.
    • Choose Delete from the context menu.
    • Click Yes.
19. • Expand HKEY_CURRENT_USER from the root of the tree in the left pane.
    • Expand Software.
    • Expand Illustrate.
    • Expand dBpoweramp.
    • Expand dMCCodec.
    • Click Windows Media Audio 10.
    • Right-click DMCUserFolderStr in the right pane.
    • Choose Delete from the context menu.
    • Click Yes.

Files

To clean your file system from files stored by dBpoweramp and to gain free disk space, examine the following file system location. First of all, open a command prompt window:

• Hit the Windows key , usually located in the lower left of your keyboard between the Ctrl and Alt keys.
• Windows XP/Vista/7: Click Run...
• Type cmd
• Hit Enter

Now list all the files stored by dBpoweramp that can be cleaned:

1. Type dir %APPDATA%\dBpoweramp\*.bin

Once you have identified the files stored by dBpoweramp that you want to clean, delete them using the del command or Windows Explorer.
